Vivian Kuhn was born, Vivian Geen, at her Grandparent's homestead at Reston, Manitoba. When people comment on the happiness and joy related in her paintings Vivian refers to her background growing up on 'Sunnyside Farm' in Kelowna, B.C. and says, "Well, what else would you expect?"

After 40 years away from the Okanagan Valley, living in a coastal environment, Vivian returned to live in the country in a picturesque log home built by her husband, Al. "Returning to my roots is very comfortable. Blueberry Hill offers us a gentle lifestyle where we share the space with wildlife. I enjoy every minute and don't take myself too seriously. My soul sings when I'm painting." Retirement called, leading Vivian and Al to the serenity of Victoria where they currently reside.

Vivian's whimsical, colourful watercolour world is presented to you with much 'tongue-in-cheek' humour. Her unique, decorative design style has evolved naturally as she has dedicated herself to evoking 'warm, fuzzy memories' for many people. 'Valentino', the irreverent seagull, follows her about putting in an appearance in many of her paintings. Young and old alike enjoy Vivian's work. She is a popular illustrator for children's books. Little jokes are tucked into the pictures to bring a chuckle as they are discovered. Her work is in the collections of art lovers around the world. If you have an opportunity to meet Vivian she'll be sure to say, "I hope you enjoy a wee bit of...the world according to Vivian!"
